Information for students without Campus Card

As of October 25, 2023

You haven’t received your Campus Card yet, or lost it? Here’s some tips:

HKA is currently unable to issue Campus Cards. We have designed workarounds for some Campus Card functions.

  1. How to pay at the cafeteria / student canteen? Please contact the Student Registry to get a special Student Services card (Studiwerks Card). You can charge and use it just like the Campus Card at the readers in the student canteen. Once you get your official Campus Card please simply inform the cashier at the cafeteria / student canteen. The money will be transferred from the Studiwerks card to your new Campus Card. Once the money is transferred you return the Studiwerks card to the cashier.
  2. How to use the library services? The following services are open to you even without Campus Card: you can enter the Academic Library on the HKA campus, use workstations, read books on site, or even scan them with the book scanner. In order to borrow books, please obtain a guest ID card at the KIT library during service hours. Currently the guest card is free of charge, provided that you present your confirmation of matriculation.
  3. How to use the public transport? On an interim basis, the KVV extends the KVV-Freizeitregelung (off-time rides) by accepting a valid confirmation of matriculation plus a printout of the valid KVV permit. Both documents must be up-to-date. In addition, please make sure to carry proof of identification (ID card) which you may be required to present in case of random ticket inspection. The inspection personnel has been briefed about this procedure.
